Lead to Empower (LTE) is a New York City–based organization dedicated to supporting schools, teachers, and leaders in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive instruction. Our mission is to close opportunity gaps by equipping educators with the coaching, strategies, and tools they need to help every student succeed.
We are seeking experienced Instructional Coaches in Mathematics for middle school grades 5–8. This is a unique opportunity to impact student achievement across NYC while supporting teacher growth and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities
As an Instructional Coach – Math, Middle School (NYC), you will:

Provide on-site coaching for teachers and leaders in mathematics instruction.

Design and implement coaching cycles tailored to school and teacher needs.

Support adoption of high-quality math curricula and instructional materials.

Facilitate teacher teams in analyzing student data, reviewing student work, and refining math instruction.

Guide schools in implementing culturally responsive teaching practices that make math accessible and engaging for all learners.

Build strong, trusting relationships with educators to support ongoing professional growth.

Lead workshops, professional learning communities, and school-wide initiatives focused on math outcomes and equity.
Required Qualifications

At least 3–4 years as a Math Instructional Coach / Consultant, plus 4+ years teaching middle school mathematics.

Deep content knowledge in middle school math (grades 5–8).

Experience supporting ELL/MLL students and diverse learners in mathematics.

Proven record of improving student outcomes through coaching.

Strong facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Proficiency with digital tools such as Zoom, Google Suite, and other online platforms.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience coaching teachers in culturally responsive math instruction and curriculum development.

Background supporting students with special needs in mathematics.

Strong presenter, skilled at leading professional learning for educators.

Commitment to equity and experience in urban public schools.
